Lip Product Review

Let me start by saying that I am the sort of person who always has dry/chapped lips in some shape or form, so I'm pretty experienced when it comes to lip products which work wonders and the ones that simply aren't worth the waste of money!
Over the past year I have been on the hunt for the perfect lip balm that is both moisturising and nicely scented. I've tried so many products from Vaseline to high end brands like Bobbi Brown, so I thought I'd fill in my fellow lip enthusiasts on my thoughts of a range of different products I have tried recently.

Body Shop Lip Butter

I have been looking forward to trying the Body Shop Lip Butters for quite a while as I am a BIG fan of the body shop body butters.
The Body Shop sells a wide range of flavours in this range. I have the Sweet Lemon and the Coconut Lip Butter. They contain Beeswax, Vitamin E and Cocoa butter.I love the taste of both of these products as they are sweet and irresistible...I'm forever licking my lips with these on! I also like the packaging as it comes in a cute little pot which is easy to throw in your bag and carry round with you all day.

I have tried both these lip butters on numerous occasions and afterwards my lips do feel soft and smooth but not highly moisturised, they simply don't do the job for me personally. Also, the lip butters have a very creamy and thick texture which can sometimes leave a white cover over the lips so these are best to apply at night unless you like 'the white lip' look!

I would recommend this product to those who are looking for a light lip moisturiser with lips in fairly good condition. However, if like me, you have fairly dry lips I feel something more moisturising is needed.

Carmex

Next up is the all time classic that is Carmex. I think everyone has tried or heard about Carmex before so I'll keep this brief.
Like the Body Shop Lip Butter's I love the little tin Carmex comes in and is easy to throw in your handbag on a day to day basis. I also just love the retro feel of the Carmex packaging. I find Carmex fairly moisturising and use this when my lips are in fairly good condition to maintain them.
I would not say I'm particularly a fan of the taste of Carmex, but it could be worse!

The ingredients include Petroleum, Paraffin and Methanol which I've heard mixed reviews about. It is suggested that lip balms made of natural ingredients are better for long term use, so keep that in mind!

Burt's Bees Wax

In my opinion Burt's Bees are the absolute king of lip balms and are my absolute favourite. I can't go a day without applying this lip balm and I love it so much. It is sooooo moisturising and always leaves my lips really soft. It claims to be made of 100% natural ingredients (one of which being beeswax) so is perfect to use all year round. It comes in a great variety of flavours some clear and some coloured.
My favourite scents are mango butter and grapefruit. They taste amazing and just do wonders for my lips.

I would recommend Burt's Bees lip balms to anyone as they really are a miracle worker!

rrp:£3.69 (I know this is slightly expensive for a drugstore/high street lip balm but is honestly worth every penny)

I hope you enjoyed reading my review as it is my first blog post or found it helpful. If you have any queations please leave a comment as I'm happy to help. Also, please recommend any lip products you like as I'd love to try them!
